Balance Yeast and Bacteria with One Probiotic Capsule A Day!

IsoFresh Probiotic is a once daily oral probiotic supplement that provides 5 strains of friendly bacteria in a total of 10 billion Colony Forming Units per day, to support a healthy vaginal ecosystem.

Vaginal health is properly maintained by keeping balance between friendly and unfriendly bacteria. Unfortunately, maintaining this balance is easier said than done, as many everyday circumstances such as taking antibiotics, eating too much sugar, douching, and feeling stressed can give bad bacteria the upper edge.

What Do Yeast Infections and Bacterial Infections Have in Common?

Once your vaginal ecosystem becomes out of balance, you may experience unwanted odors and irritation, and it can even set the stage for the development of bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections.

Taking an oral probiotic supplement, like IsoFresh Probiotic, can help tip the scales back in favor of vaginal health by helping to re-populate friendly bacteria and by supporting a healthy vaginal pH, all of which can reduce the chance that yeast and bad bacteria will take hold.

IsoFresh Probiotic contains female-targeted friendly bacteria that are targeted to vaginal health – 2 billion each of Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus reuteri, Lactobacillius acidophilus, Bifidobacterium lactis, and Bifidobacterium longum.

How Does an Oral Probiotic for Vaginal Health Work?

Using an oral probiotic to repopulate the good bacteria in the vagina was first reported in a 2001 study. Researchers wondered if healthy bacteria exiting the rectum through the normal digestive process could reach the vagina in much the same way as infection-causing bacteria can. The study found that bacteria taken as an oral supplement could in fact pass through the intestines and reach the rectum, allowing the potential for this bacteria to make its way to the vagina. Additionally, a subsequent study demonstrated that healthy lactobacilli reduces the transfer of yeast and pathogenic bacteria from the rectum to the vagina thereby lowering the risk of infection. In this randomized, placebo-controlled trial of 64 healthy women, 37% of the patients in the group receiving an oral probiotic saw their vaginal ecosystem restored from an ecosystem dominated by BV bac to a a lactobacilli-dominated ecosystem. Only 13% of the placebo group experienced this shift towards a healthier vaginal ecosystem.

Oral probiotic supplements are sold as dietary supplements in the United States and are required to carry the Supplement Facts Panel on the packaging. On the other hand, probiotics sold for vaginal application are not considered dietary supplements by the FDA and can not carry the Supplement Facts panel. Currently, there are no probiotic products intended for vaginal application that are cleared by the FDA for the use in the prevention or treatment of any medical condition.
